Frame Wall

I had a great week last week. Hubs took some time off for our anniversary and my birthday. All that family time was great. We got some things done around the house and just spent some time together as a family. And it meant that I was not on the computer doing any blogging. So I didn't have my usual Monday post. Did you notice? But I'm trying to get back on track now.

Although Hubs and I have been living in this house for 4 years now, I still have many walls of shame. Undecorated walls; they're everywhere. So, I'm working on that a little bit. It's just hard because I don't like putting up  mass produced  wall art that you see in every store everywhere. I have some of that, and I just don't like it so much.

One of the easiest ways to get some personalization on your walls is to put up family photos. I used to put family pics on our mantle. But it got a little overwhelming as we started getting more and more family pictures. Honestly, since we moved, 4 years ago, I just hadn't pulled out all the photos and tried to find the perfect spot for them. Cause I'm a dork like that.

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to put them up on the stairwell and have a frame wall. It just didn't until I started reading all these other craft blogs and seeing like a ton of frame walls on pinterest.

So I finally pulled out all those great family pics that I've had piled up in our junk room office for forever. I arranged them and then asked Hubs to do the hard work of hanging them. Love you honey! I hung a few, but after the first row or two I could reach. Gotta love a tall husband!

I wish we had done this sooner. It's nice to see photos of our family every time we go up and down the stairs. While I'm not thrilled about the look of all the frames, they are hung up now. I can over time, take a couple of frames down, spray paint them and rehang.

You're probably wondering how long that will take since it took me 4 years to put them on the wall. I'll let you know...

  2. That is so great. I love gallery walls.. I confess I am addicted to them, since it is so much easier to put up everything than decide what should go and what shouldn't. Yours on the stairs looks great! I love it!
