I found this sheer grey checkered fabric in the remnant section of my fabric store and got it without having any particular project in mind. Later I decided to make it into an infinity scarf. It is a sheer fabric and not what you'd normally think about for an infinity scarf. But I'm just the teensiest tiniest bit cold-natured. My best friend is hot-natured. We are constantly shivering/sweating at each others houses.
I followed the video tutorial here on the sewing part. No need to reinvent the wheel. But where she says not to use a sheer fabric, I did. And I love it! Because I used a full .75 yard, my scarf is wider than hers. But there again I used a sheer fabric, so I don't mind the extra width. It's a little extra warmth and not bulky at all.
And can I just add that modeling your own stuff is really awkward work. I can take pictures of my kids all day. But having Hubs take pictures of me...that's a different story. It was so hard to get any composure and stop giggling! Of course it didn't help that it was my husband taking pictures of me making me laugh too. So for honesty's sake here are some out takes. (Oh, and these are the good bad shots. I deleted the really bad ones.)

What a stylish scarf! Love it...and I think you were a great model. ;) I know what you mean, I feel silly when the hubs is snapping pics of me too. I would love for you to share this here:
