Orange Fall Dress

With fall on it's way, I wanted to make Caitlin a new dress. She actually asked me to make her one the other day. Aww. She knows how to make a crafty mom happy!

She asked for a purple dress, and maybe I'll think about that, but I already had all the fabric and notions for this one.

Again, I used the Simplicity pattern 3859 like in the Blue Daisy Dress. Except this time, I used option C. My zipper skills are getting better. In fact, this one looks pretty good if you ask me. But I didn't get the hook and eye put on before taking these pictures. I'll need to run to the store to get some. That's why there's that weird gap at the top.

In other, unrelated news, I am worn out! In the last two weeks, Hayley has gotten her first tooth and started walking. Her second tooth is ready to break through any day now. Caitlin started school at Mommy's Morning Out again and the first day was full of 'I don't want to go' and then when she did go the teacher said she cried every time someone came through the door.

As Caitlin and I talked about it more, apparently she was worried because last year there was a little girl that she tried to be friends with all year. And that little girl was really hot and cold; one day her best friend, the next a mean little thing. I actually met her, so I can say a mean little thing because she was. Anyway, that girl is NOT in her class this year. Thank the Lord! And Caitlin made friends with a new girl on her second day. I'm praying that this will be a better friendship. But after all that, Caitlin brought a cold home with her and now Hayley has it too.

As tired as I am, I know things could be so much worse and I'm grateful that it's only growing pains, and a yucky cold. In the mean time, I'll just be a walking zombie because my girls need me more than I need sleep. :)
