No Sew Waving American Flag Shiirt

 No Sew Waving Flag Shirt

Don't you just LOVE simple projects that have the cutest outcomes! They are my favorite ones to do and this no-sew waving American flag shirt is just one of those projects. I can't wait for Memorial Day for my daughter to wear it.

I didn't take any pics while I was making this because it's sooo simple. You'll need a simple white tank top or t-shirt along with red ric rac and a blue ribbon with white polka dots. I wanted to find a blue ribbon with white stars, but I couldn't find any, so I went with the polka dots instead.

Cut 4 equal lengths of ric rac.

Hot glue the first piece in a wave starting in the top left (looking at it) corner of your shirt and angle it upwards to the right. Add each of the other three pieces staggering each one as you go. This plus the waviness of the ric rac gives you the wavy look that makes the flag look like it's flying.

Now create a bow with the blue ribbon. Hot glue in the upper left corner where the field of stars should go.

Heat the ends of your ribbon with a candle so it doesn't unravel.

15 minutes - DONE!

My only regret with this project was that I didn't get a second shirt so both kiddos could have one. I try to save the matchy-matchy kid outfits for special occasions, but this is so cute, I should have done it. Just picture this shirt with a cute ruffle jean skirt and a pair of flip flops. Ah, perfect!
