The flowers are blooming! Spring is here! And crafting with flowers — a MUST. — One of my daughter’s love languages is giving/receiving gifts. She is always making pictures for us, bringing us found things, and thinking of things that she wants to make in order to give it to others. So making a paper door hanger for flowers is a fun and Spring-worthy way to give a thoughtful gift to neighbors and loved ones.
These paper cone door hangers are great for giving flowers at many occasions; Mother’s Day, May Day, new neighbor gifts, get well gifts, weddings, so many different occasions.
square paper (I cut mine 9″ by 9″, but it depends on how many flowers you want to include in your cone)
decorative edging scissors
Roll into a cone shape and glue in place.
Thread your ribbon through the holes leaving a large loop in the back. This loop is where you hang the flowers from the door knob.
And tie a bow in the front. My ribbon was pretty thin, only 1/8″ wide. A 1/4″ wide ribbon would stand out much better I think.
And that’s it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Now the hard part is deciding whether to give your gift anonymously or not. We gave ours to some neighbors who had just moved in a few months ago. At first Caitlin wanted to leave it anonymously, but when they didn’t have a normal door knob, but a handle, she changed her mind and rang the door bell and met a new neighbor. Sweet girl!!
